“Keijiro Amemiya Documentary,” Thursday, Aug. 3, at 8 p.m.
This special documents the life of Keijiro Amemiya, one of Japan’s influential businessmen in the early 1900s. He played a key role in the Koshu Zaibatsu (financial group from the Province of Kai) and other various businesses. He began his career as a peddler and through repeated struggles eventually became a successful businessman in the area of Japan’s railway system. His contributions helped shape the basis of Japan’s modern society.
“Kinako (TV Asahi),” airs Saturday, Aug. 12, at 8 p.m.
Kinako is a documentary about a police dog who repeatedly failed at her police dog trials, and her trainer, who refused to accept that Kinako was a failure.
Kyoko Mochizuki was 18 years old when she admitted to the police dog training academy to begin her lifelong dream of training police dogs. Soon after, Kyoko met Kinako, a Labrador retriever puppy.
Despite Kyoko’s efforts, Kinako repeatedly fails her tests, but Kyoko refuses to give up. With patience, determination, and tenacity, Kyoko continues to work with Kinako, believing that one day, her hard work will be rewarded.

“Mission to Kill Special (Hissatsu Shigotonin)” (ABC/TV Asahi), airs Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m.
Shigotonin refers to a team of highly skilled hired assassins during the Edo period. They are hired by victims of crime to avenge the unlawful acts committed against them. Hiring an assassin would also be considered a crime, but when you learn about the victims, you come to understand their motivations.
“Love and Law (YTV),” premieres Thursday, Aug. 10, at 8 p.m.
Minowa Bunta is not a lawyer but a new office clerk at a law firm. The former chief of a biker gang, Minowa has neither the educational background nor the refinement but was miraculously employed. He has absolutely no knowledge of the law, but he believes all the problems in the world can be solved with love. He would tackle troubles such as inheritance, divorce, illegal loans, monster parents and neighbors with the “power of love” and “unprecedented actions.”

Lucas Matthew is told by a fortune teller that he will meet his true love at the age of 21. Meanwhile, a young girl named Grace is told the same thing by another fortune teller. Neither Lucas Matthew nor Grace takes the predictions seriously until years later when they are both 21.
One day, Grace’s sister Joy dares her to be spontaneous and kiss a stranger. The man Grace kisses turns out to be Lucas Matthew, and they eventually begin a romance. Tragically, Joy is diagnosed with leukemia, and while undergoing treatment at the hospital, begins to fall in love with a young intern. The intern turns out to be the same stranger her sister Grace has fallen for – Lucas Matthew.
What will happen when the sisters discover they are in love with the same man?

Nick and Vanessa are engaged to be married, but tragedy strikes when Nick is in a helicopter crash that causes him to lose his memory.

But faith intervenes again as Darwin in involved in another accident, which causes him to regain the memory of his life as Nick and forget his new life as Darwin.

Based on the manga of the same name, this drama is about time travel.
A young chef named Ken is mysteriously transported to the Sengoku period and he also loses most of his memories. He is thrown in the midst of a battle between soldiers, and, as both sides think he is a spy, they hunt him down. During his escape, Ken meets Natsu, a young blacksmith girl. Because of his cooking abilities, Ken is soon recruited as personal chef of Oda Nobunaga.

Ten minutes into a gig at a club in Tokyo, he stops playing to take a call from the hospital on whether to accept a pregnant woman and rushes to the hospital. The pregnant woman has never had an examination and the hospital isn’t even sure how many months she has been pregnant. Sakura decides to accept the pregnant woman even though there is high risk and asks the Neonatology team for help. Takayuki Imahashi is the leader of the Neonatology team and he prepares for the woman to give birth.

Lara and Sara are conjoined twins who, after being separated, are adopted by two different aunts. Aunty Betty takes Lara, so her mean daughter Vanessa would have a playmate. But living in their cruel household forces Lara to run away, and she eventually finds a kind Samaritan who takes her in.
Meanwhile, Sara is adopted by another aunt, whose abusive husband disfigures her face. After plastic surgery to restore her face, Sara realizes the surgeon has made her look exactly like her cousin Vanessa. Only then does she learn that the surgeon and Vanessa are lovers, and the surgery was a plot to create Vanessa’s body double, freeing the couple to travel abroad and spend money stolen from Vanessa’s husband.
