Community Focus – Hui O Laulima Cultural Grant Awardees

Hui O Laulima recently awarded $15,000 in grants to 10 organizations for specific projects aimed at perpetuating Okinawan culture. “Each awardee demonstrated potential to promote and expand the influence of our vibrant and colorful Okinawan culture,” noted HOL cultural grants committee chair Karen Fuse. Community Focus – HJCC Stages 74th Gonin Otoko Play

Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce members and their guests rang in the “Year of the Boar (or Pig, if you prefer)” at the chamber’s 74th annual shinnenkai (New Year’s party) on Jan. 4 at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai‘i.
