ARTIST SHOW AT CHOZEN-JI
Chozen-ji, an international Zen temple located deep within Kalihi Valley, hosted a three-day art show and sale from Friday, Nov. 3 through Sunday, Nov. 5. Chozen-ji is a monastery and a community temple where members learn Zen training through martial arts, fine arts, zazen (sitting meditation) and aloha. The art show featured young artists who train at Chozen-ji along with formal Japanese tea ceremony and Japanese archery performances. Art for sale included wood-fired ceramics, calligraphy panels and scrolls, books and omamori and can also be purchased on its website at chozen-ji.org/art-show. (Photos by Wayne Shinbara)
KAUAI MATSURI 2023
The Kauai Matsuri celebrated its 60th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Kaua‘i and Suo Oshima.
