WHO/WHAT: The Bishop Museum is hosting a celebration for the Independence Day of the Hawaiian Kingdom. Lā Kūʻokoʻa commemorates the day the Hawaiian Kingdom’s sovereignty was formally acknowledged by western entities. This year marks the 180th celebration. The program includes cultural food and activities, as well as an opportunity to discuss how Hawaiian independence can be recognized and perpetuated today.

WHEN/WHERE: Tuesday, Nov. 28, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.; Bishop Museum, 1525 Bernice St.
