
WHO/WHAT: Don your favorite kimono, happi coat or eisaa outfit and dance to traditional Okinawan numbers and contemporary Japanese favorites at the Hawaii United Okinawa Center’s Autumn Matsuri.This year’s performance lineup includes, Hawaii Eisa Shinyuu Kai, Nidaime Teishinkai Hawaii Shibu, Hawaii Shin Kobukai, Iwakuni Odori Aiko Kai, Aiea Taiheji Yagura Gumi, Oahu District Hongwanji, Oahu Soto Mission Bon Dance Assn. and Young Okinawans of Hawaii. Club food booths will be selling local favorites like spam musubi, taco rice, jimami tofu, bento, bubble tea, shave ice, andagi, andadog, Okinawan soba and much more! There will also be crafts, bon dance happi coats, 2023 Okinawan Festival shirts, past festival shirts and bags for sale. Admission is free.
WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, Sept. 16. Food sales begin at 4 p.m. and the program runs from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Hawaii Okinawa Center, 94-587 Uke‘e St.
