WHO/WHAT: The Honolulu Theatre for Youth presents “The Carp Who Would Not Quit and Other Animal Stories,” by Reiko Ho and the HTY Ensemble. The play is a retelling of traditional fables from Japan and Okinawa, featuring live Japanese and Okinawan music, song, dance and audience participation to teach important lessons of persistence, respect and kindness through clever animals.

WHEN/WHERE: Sunday, Aug. 20, 2 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 2, 4 p.m. Honolulu Theatre for Youth, 229 Queen Emma Sq.
