WHO/WHAT: In partnership with Little Tokyo Historical Society, the Japanese American National Museum presents a free in-person and virtual author conversation about the release of the award-winning book, “A Rebel’s Outcry: Biography of Issei Civil Rights Leader Sei Fujii (1882-1954).” Fujii is known for overturning the California Alien Land Law in 1952 and for founding the Japanese American newspaper Kashu Mainichi (California Daily News). A special 10th anniversary screening of the short film “Lil Tokyo Reporter” will be presented, along with a discussion of the biography with filmmaker and publisher Jeffrey Gee Chin and Academy Award winner Chris Tashima.
