
WHO/WHAT: Obon season is the time of year to honor ancestors’ spirits and the Jodo Mission of Hawaii will be hosting an Obon dance to welcome ancestors back for a short time. To prevent pedestrian accidents, the Jodo Mission parking lot will be closed from 4:30 p.m. and all parked cars must remain until the bon dance is over. A designated handicap drop-off area will be available.
WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, August 20, 4-9:30 p.m., Jodo Mission of Hawaii, 1429 Makiki St. Food booths open at 4 p.m., with dancing to begin at 5 p.m.
