WHO/WHAT: Art is in full bloom this spring as the Hawai‘i Triennial will be featured in various exhibitions throughout O‘ahu. Organized by non-profit organization Hawai‘i Contemporary, Hawai‘i Triennial is framed around the theme: Pacific Century – E Ho’omau no Moananuiākea, which will exhibit contemporary art associating with history, place, and identity within Hawai’i, along with influences from the Asia-Pacific and Oceania. Curated by Dr. Melissa Chiu, along with associate curators Dr. Miwako Tezuka and Drew Kahu’āina Broderick, HT22 features many diverse artists including internationally renowned cultural figures. They will present alongside numerous generations of Hawai‘i-based artists who bring inventive expressions and ideas for a citywide celebration of contemporary art.
