WHO/WHAT: Discover Nikkei will help explore the differences between Nikkei and Japanese food at home in this virtual experience operated by Japanese American writer Gil Asakawa. Nikkei food can differentiate from ingredients, expressing cultural identity, and how it connects to your community like recipes passed down from generation to generation. The presentation made by Shigeru Kojima — a researcher at the Japanese Overseas Migration Museum — will allow participants to have the opportunity to converse in small groups. The virtual rooms will be kept open following the optional network program.
