WHO/WHAT: A documentary featuring Tlingit veterans from Hoonah, Alaska, who saw combat during the Vietnam War, shares what it was like for them during the war and serving a government that systematically oppressed native people. Director Samantha Farinella, who teaches film at UH Mānoa and UH West O‘ahu, wanted to shed light on these Native Alaskan soldiers’ struggle and how it impacted them, their families and communities.
