WHO/WHAT: The annual HWS 2021 Open Show features work by 37 artists who explore the range and capabilities of this water-based medium. Out of 47 artists and 150 pieces entered, 55 pieces and 37 artists were carefully curated and chosen by this year’s show juror Keiko Tanabe, a San Diego-based artist and instructor. This year’s exhibit shares space with the Little Picture Show, a cash and carry sale (patrons who purchase artwork may take it off the wall and take it home with them) of small works by Hawaii Watercolor Society members.
WHEN/WHERE: From now-Saturday, Sept. 18. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Sunday 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Downtown Art Center, 1041 Nu‘uanu Ave., second floor. For more information, go to hawaiiwatercolorsociety.org.
