DEC. 6: TOYS FOR TOTS

Street Bikers United Hawaii donated toys to help the Kaneohe Marine Corps “Toys for Tots” campaign on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, at West Oahu Veterans Center (AMVETS Hawaii) in Ewa Beach.

According to the “Marine Corps Toys for Tots” website (toysfortots.org), the mission of the program “is to collect new unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to less fortunate children at Christmas.”

Ann Teruya shapes the kagami mochi with care. Kagami mochi, or mirror rice cake, is a traditional Japanese New Year decoration.
In Our Commmunity = MOCHI
Kagami mochi consists of two round mochi with a smaller one placed on top a larger one, and a daidai (a bitter orange) with an attached leaf on top. “Daidai” means “from generation to generation.”
