WHO/WHAT: The Japanese American National Museum presents “Sparking Stories: A Conversation with Shirley Ann Higuchi & Tamlyn Tomita.” Higuchi, who wrote “Setsuko’s Secret: Heart Mountain and the Legacy of the Japanese American Incarceration,” will talk with performer Tomita in a Q&A moderated by filmmaker and news anchor David Ono.
For Higuchi and her brothers, Heart Mountain is both where their parents met and the site of a concentration camp where a generation of Japanese Americans were forced to live during World War II. She combines personal and political histories in this moving live webinar.
