
WHO/WHAT: Begin 2021 with good fortune; help the Daijingu Temple with its Shintoist Oshogatsu (New Year’s) events! Daijingu is “currently looking for volunteers to help fill some fun and exciting new roles. Some of the responsibilities are helping with setting up New Year’s Eve on Dec. 31, 2020, crowd control on New Year’s Day, Omamori packaging/sorting and distribution and New Year’s Day breakdown,” according to the Daijingu website (daijingutemple.org).
WHEN/WHERE: “The ceremony starts from Jan. 1st, 12 a.m., New Year’s Day, to 4 p.m. at the Daijingu Temple (61 Puiwa Rd., off Pali Hwy.). We will be implementing social distance state rules at all times during our event. We will also have personal protective equipment available for all volunteers,” a representative of the temple said.
