WHO/WHAT: UHM Profs. George Tanabe and Willa Jane Tanabe, authors of “Japanese Buddhist Temples of Hawaiʻi: An Illustrated Guide,” give a unique virtual tour of Mōʻiliʻili Hongwanji. Part of the Virtual Nembutsu Seminar series, co-sponsored by the Honolulu and Oʻahu Hongwanji Councils and the Office of Buddhist Education, the Tanabes will speak about the temple’s history, altar objects, beautiful ceiling artwork and the meanings of these items.
