WHO/WHAT: Renowned local painter, Mary Mitsuda, returns to fishcake with “Still Life” — a series of postcard sized paintings depicting familiar inanimate objects around her studio and the contemplative moments shared with each item.

Mitsuda departs from her signature drippy abstract paintings and refocuses on what’s in front of her. “’Still Life’ is about the time you give yourself to look at something, to see where it takes you,” said Mitsuda.

WHEN/WHERE: On view until April 4, at fishcake (307C Kamani St.). Gallery hours are Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; and closed on Sunday.
