WHO/WHAT: The MIS Veterans Education Society of Hawaii will hold its annual shinnen enkai (New Year’s luncheon). The program will include the installation of the organization’s 2020 officers and board members, entertainment and a speech from the Nisei Veterans Legacy president, Lynn Heirakuji.
The organization is made up of World War II veterans who served in the Military Intelligence Service in combat and intelligence roles in the Asia-Pacific theater and their descendants.
WHEN/WHERE: Sunday, Jan. 26, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Natsunoya Tea House.
