WHO/WHAT: The Daihonzan Chozen-ji International Zen Dojo will hold its annual art show and sale, “Zen Ken Sho.” This year, the show will feature the art and life of the late Jackson Morisawa, and works of calligraphy, ceramics and sumie by Chozen-ji priests and Zen masters. There will also be demonstrations of martial and fine arts used in Zen training at Chozen-ji, including calligraphy, ceramics, flower arrangement, tai chi, kendo and a 56-year-old Japanese sword form known as “hojo.”
WHEN/WHERE: Friday-Sunday, Nov. 8-10, at Dihonzan Chozen-ji International Zen Dojo (3565 Kalihi St.). The art show will be open on Friday, Nov. 8, 6-9 p.m., and will include martial arts and fine arts demonstrations beginning at 7:30 p.m. The art show will be open again on Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., with demonstrations beginning at 11 a.m. A full schedule can be found at https://www.chozen-ji.org/art-show.
