WHO/WHAT: The Deigo Club will celebrate its 70th Anniversary with a luncheon and Okinawan entertainment. There will be performances by members and various groups from the local performing arts community. Hajime Nakasone, an accomplished minyo uta-sanshin entertainer from Okinawa, will make a special appearance. He is the winner of this year’s Radio Okinawa “Miuta Taisho.”
The Deigo Club members are post-World War II Okinawan immigrants who have made Hawai‘i their home.
