WHO/WHAT: Maj. Gen. Suzanne Vares-Lum of the U.S. Army will speak at the 14th annual Joint Memorial Service honoring the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team, Military Intelligence Service and the 1399th Engineer Construction Battalion. Born and raised in Wahiawa, she serves as the mobilization assistant to the commander of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. The memorial service is sponsored by the Nisei Veterans Legacy.
WHEN/WHERE: Sunday, Sept. 29, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. The memorial service is open to the public.
