SUPERSTITIONS
“I haven’t had a cold in months — knock on wood.” How many conversations are produced by the phrase, “Knock on wood!” In this scientific age many people succumb to unreasonable fears and superstitions. They have mental reservations about the power of black cats, stepladders, rabbits’ feet and good luck symbols. We do well to rid ourselves of all superstitious beliefs.
