WHO/WHAT: Friends of the Library Kahuku and the Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Kahuku Public School and Library, with a historical talk story about the Kahuku Sugar Plantation and mill from the women’s perspective. Nine women with ties to the Kahuku Sugar Mill Plantation will share their experiences.

The 1988 short documentary, “Kahuku: Survival of a Plantation Town,” will also be shown.

WHEN/WHERE: Tuesday, Nov. 20, 5-7:30 p.m., in the Kahuku School and Public Library (56-490 Kamehameha Hwy.) on the campus of Kahuku High and Intermediate School. Open free of charge to the public.
