WHO/WHAT: An exhibition of Okinawan ceramics, lacquer and textile works from the Honolulu Museum of Art’s extensive collection of Okinawan art. The exhibit includes rare works from the Ryukyu Kingdom (1429-1879), which played a key role in the cultural and economic exchange between China and Japan at a critical point in the histories of all three civilizations.
WHEN/WHERE: The exhibit will be on display at the Honolulu Museum of Art through Sunday, Sept. 23.
