WHO/WHAT: Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko Hawaii and the Pacific Cultural Interchange Association present “Ko-Ryukyu: The Dawn of Ryukyu,” a program of Okinawan cultural arts and pre-Ryukyuan history inspired by RMD Hawaii founder Akemi Martin-Sensei’s selection as an Urasoe City goodwill ambassador. The show tells the stories of the three kings of Urasoe, Okinawa, through taiko, odori (dance), karate, hula and more. Several performers will be coming from Okinawa, including popular singer and songwriter Hidekatsu.

WHEN/WHERE: Tuesday, July 24, at 7 p.m. at the Hawaii Okinawa Center (94-587 Uke‘e St.). Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
