SYMPATHY

A man saw a number of children on a street, all crying. He asked them, “What’s the matter with you children?” They answered, “We’ve all got pain in Billy’s stomach.” Real sympathy is not simply feeling sorry for the misfortune of another. It is putting oneself in another’s place. It is making somebody else’s pain your own.
