INDUCED BY DRUGS
The New Yorker carried this cartoon: Two young women, in a small apartment, are trying to relax after returning from their day’s work. One says to the other, “I don’t know whether to take a Benzedrine and go to the party or a Nembutal and go to bed.” Many people live such an empty life that their gaiety and sleep must be induced by drugs.
