I was elected to State House of Representatives for the first time in 1994. It marked the beginning of my legislative work on behalf of the people of District 46, made up of Wahiawä, Whitmore Village and Launani Valley in Central O‘ahu.
Like many communities in our state, our district has its share of challenges. But, the threatened closure of Wahiawa General Hospital (“Wahiawa General”) — which is both the largest private sector employer (over 300 jobs) and the only hospital and emergency room for one-third of O‘ahu — demands the bulk of my attention.
