I wish to express my sincere gratitude to Hawaii Hochi for providing this opportunity for our community to freely express our views with one another. For over 100 years, the Hochi has served as a unique and cherished pillar of our community. When I was growing up here, there was always a copy of the Hochi on coffee tables at relatives’ homes — it’s part of our history as a people.
Change is inevitable for any culture — we have been indoctrinated to ideas like the need for progress.
