What do you look for in a restaurant? Terrific food? Affordable prices? Excellent service? Great wine list? Or, do you seek out intangibles, such as dishes that utilize local products, or that practice water and energy conservation? Or do you just want someplace that is conveniently located?

As you probably know by now, our go-to establishment is Vino Italian Tapas and Wine Bar, which meets most of the criteria on our list — great food with good prices and a wait staff that knows our tastes and preferences. It has the best wine list on the island and the most rascal master sommelier. And, it’s just a stone’s throw away from Käne‘ohe, with loads of free parking.

We recently found another establishment that fulfills most of our criteria for a restaurant to make a part of our regular rotation. It’s a bit farther from our home in K-Town, but it’s probably convenient for all of you 968-ers. It’s called The Nook Neighborhood Bistro.
