“The Imposter,” premieres on Sunday, July 17, at 6 p.m.
Lara and Sara are conjoined twins who, after being separated, are adopted by two different aunts. Aunty Betty takes Lara, so her mean daughter Vanessa would have a playmate. But living in their cruel household forces Lara to run away, and she eventually finds a kind Samaritan who takes her in.
Meanwhile, Sara is adopted by another aunt, whose abusive husband disfigures her face. After plastic surgery to restore her face, Sara realizes the surgeon has made her look exactly like her cousin Vanessa. Only then does she learn that the surgeon and Vanessa are lovers, and the surgery was a plot to create Vanessa’s body double, freeing the couple to travel abroad and spend money stolen from Vanessa’s husband.

“Doctor X 3,” premieres on Sunday, July 17, at 9 p.m.
The third season about Michiko Daimon, a freelance doctor who was dispatched to a university hospital which lost a number of doctors all at once due to harsh work conditions.
While visiting an island, Michiko treats injured passengers after a luxury liner gets into an accident. Among the injured passengers, she finds Ryonosuke who is an ex-hospital director, and treats his wound.
Later, Ryonosuke is hospitalized at the National Center for Advanced Medical Care. He has suffered from a cardiac tumor and hepatocellular carcinoma. At the conference for Ryonosuke’s upcoming surgery, two factions of the National Center for Advanced Medical Care have an intense argument over his surgery. Michiko suddenly appears at the warlike conference and tells them that Ryonosuke is her patient.

“Losing Heaven,” Sunday at 5 p.m.
Bridgette and Ellery are childhood best friends, and their bond becomes even stronger when Bridgette’s parents are killed, leaving her an orphan. Ellery’s father adopts Bridgette, making them sisters.
The best friends/sisters grow up and attain careers they love. Everything is going well until Bridgette meets Jonas. Instantly, she falls in love with him, but he only has eyes for Ellery. After Ellery meets him, they fall in love and marry.
Their happiness is shattered when they learn Ellery cannot conceive. Bridgette steps in and offers to be a surrogate mom through in-vitro, and births a daughter.
Ellery gets into a car accident and is in a coma. Bridgette convinces Jonas to annul his marriage to Ellery for the sake of the baby and marry her.
But what happens to the best friends/sisters if Ellery regains consciousness?

“Sanada Maru (NHK),” Sunday at 7 p.m. and Tuesday at 8 p.m.
“Sanada Maru” is the 55th Taiga drama from NHK.
The story about the life of the last great commander in the Warring States period, Yukimura Sanada, whose real name was Genjiro Nobushige Sanada.
Curious and adventure-loving, Nobushige Sanada tore through the the Warring States period and eventually became a legendary commander who even awed the ruler Ieyasu Tokugawa.
He completed the construction of Sanada Maru, which is the last and strongest fortress to defend the most vulnerable gate of the castle during the Siege of Osaka.

“Doctors 2 (TV Asahi),” Sunday at 8 p.m.
“Doctors 2” is a continuation of “Doctors,” which aired last year.
Tamaki Dogami, the director of Dogami Hospital, announces her retirement and names her nephew, Dr. Suguru Moriyama, as her successor.
This upsets the doctors and nurses who distrust Suguru and his self-centered ways.

“Behind the Noren 2 (Fuji),” Sunday at 9 p.m.
The showdown between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law at a traditional Japanese inn continues in this second series. But this time, “the spirit of good service” bypasses international boundaries as some of the main characters venture to Taiwan.

“My Prince (Yomiuri TV),” Monday at 8 p.m.
Takako Hara has a history of failed romances and is resigned to a life of loneliness. At only 32, she is convinced she will be alone the rest of the her life. That is, until Koutarou Ozu comes to teach at her school.
Although Takako is seven years older than Koutaro, she finds herself falling for him. What happens when she learns he is already engaged to be married?

“Pet Doctor (Yomiuri TV),” Monday at 9 p.m.
As a veterinarian, Kentaro Shiba — or Shibaken (as he is known by everyone in town) – saves pets’ lives. But he is also known as a busybody because he worries equally about the pet’s owners.
When he sees someone in trouble, he can’t leave them alone. He’ll do whatever he can to help them out.
To some people, Shibaken is a little bit of a pain. But it’s because he cares as much about the owners of the pets as he does about the pets.

“Toyama no Kinsan (Toei),” Tuesday at 9 p.m.
“Toyama no Kinsan” will bring back many memories for long-time KIKU viewers. The original series was very popular and ran on KIKU for many years. This new remake stars Ken Matsudaira, who will also bring back memories for KIKU viewers. He was the star of “Abarenbo Shogun,” another very popular series that ran on KIKU for many years.
Kinsan is a magistrate officer who protects the common people and is tough on criminals. Similar to Abarenbo Shogun, he moves through life everyday incognito, until he discovers crime and confronts the offender. Kinsan’s symbol is a tattoo of flowering sakura on his shoulder. When he lowers his kimono and criminals see his tattoo, they confess and the case is closed!

“Save Our Town (TBS) – Napoleon no Mura,” Thursday at 8 p.m.
A story about a soon-to-be-deserted village and a change that takes place in the people of the village.
Eiji Asai is an officer with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. He requests a transfer to the division in charge of the village of Kagura. Kagura has been experiencing financial difficulties, and its mayor has requested the town be dissolved.
But Eiji has other ideas. He wants to revive the village with a festival. But first, he needs to revive the attitudes of the townspeople.

“Downtown Rocket (TBS),” Thursday at 9 p.m.
“Downtown Rocket” is about a former researcher at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (Japan’s version of NASA) who is pursuing his lifelong dream to develop a rocket engine. Pursuit of this dream causes Ryohei Tsukuda to single-mindedly focus all of his family-owned manufacturing company’s efforts on developing the engine, at the expense of all other projects.
One day, Ryohei receives an offer to buy his patent for more than $17 billion. Will Ryohei sell or continue to follow his dream?
