WHO/WHAT:
Helping Hands Hawaii will be launching its annual Ready to Learn program, which provides free school supplies to low-income and homeless children, statewide. The public is invited to donate school supplies and/or make a monetary donations. During the 2015-2016 school year, the Ready to Learn campaign gave away more than 7,000 kits to students in need.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Online: Visit www.HelpingHandsHawaii.org and click on the PayPal link to make a donation. Contributions from June 1 to July 31 are automatically earmarked for the Ready to Learn program.
Mail: Checks made payable to “Helping Hands Hawaii” can be mailed to Ready to Learn Program, c/o Helping Hands Hawaii, 2100 N. Nimitz Hwy., Honolulu, HI 96819. Write “Ready to Learn” in the memo section.
In-Person: Cash, check and school supply donations are accepted on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at Helping Hands Hawaii’s Honolulu office at 2100 N. Nimitz Hwy.; and in Hilo at 305 Wailuku Dr., Unit #6A.
All American Savings Bank branches will accept monetary and school supply donations from June 15 to July 22, during normal business hours. Donations made at neighbor island locations will benefit students on that island.
