WHO/WHAT: The Hanayagi Dancing Academy celebrates the new year with its annual “Maizome,” or first recital of the year. The Hanayagi-ryu School of Classical Japanese Dance was established in 1845 by headmaster Hanayagi Jusuke I. It has approximately 24,000 natori (dance school name instructors) throughout the world and is considered the largest and most popular school of Japanese classical dance in Japan.
