WHO/WHAT: O‘ahu-based fashion designer Anne Namba returns to Hilo to stage her immensely popular, “Anne Namba in Hilo” annual fashion show.
WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hawaii Japanese Center, 751 Kanoelehua Ave. Doors will open at 9:45 a.m.
COST: Admission is free and open to the public. A portion of each sale will benefit the HJC. Namba is renowned for her use of exotic Asian silks in her original, one-of-a-kind designs, and will be on hand to personally narrate the fashion show. This year, Namba will introduce her latest silk prints: “Red Dragons,” “Dancing Fans” and “Ginko Leaves;” items from her “Texture & Tones” collection, which incorporates kimono and obi material; and many items from her annual 50 percent off sale.
