WHO/WHAT: Every two years, members of the Japan Folk Performing Arts Interchange Association travel to international destinations to share Japan folk performing arts through dance, with traditional Japanese instruments/props, taiko and singing performances.
The goal is to promote international goodwill and further strengthen the relationship between Japan and Hawai‘i. This performance includes groups from the prefectures of Okayama, Shizuoka, Kyoto, Hyogo and Osaka.
WHEN/WHERE: Friday, Aug. 28, at Hawaii Theatre Center. Show times are at 1 and 7 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes prior to curtain.
COST: Admission is free, but tickets are required and can be obtained at “Japan Traditional Plaza” in Shirokiya.
