The Kona Club of Honolulu will hold its 50th annual get-together — a lü‘au — on Sunday, Aug. 2, in the Pömaika‘i Ballroom at Dole Cannery, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“It will be a historical event for Kona-ans and all those that can trace their roots to our dear Kona. This is an opportunity to renew friendship, exchange Kona stories and enjoy good fellowship,” said club president Mildred (Tina) Kaneshiro.
The buffet luncheon will feature Nä Hökü Award-winning group, Kapena. There will also be door prizes, including chances to win a trip to Las Vegas, courtesy of Vacations Hawai‘i and 80,000 Hawaiian Miles, which can be redeemed for one round-trip ticket to an international destination or two round-trip domestic tickets.
Tickets are $40 for adults and $20 for children ages 6 to 12. Make checks payable to Kona Club of Honolulu and mail them to: P.O. Box 29542, Honolulu, HI 96820.
