Who/what: Tony Group Autoplex and Pacific International Realty present the 45th Annual Ukulele Festival, featuring Jake Shimabukuro, Willie K and Ukuleles for Peace from Israel. Also featured are Hawai‘i musical artists Ohta-San, Paula Fuga, Herb Ohta Jr., Aidan James, Nick Acosta and the Roy Sakuma 700-piece Ukulele Band, comprised mostly of children.
“At 45 years and still going strong, this is a milestone event for the Ukulele Festival,” said Roy Sakuma, who founded the event in 1971.
There will also be a food tent, free ‘ukulele lessons, ‘ukulele displays and festival T-shirts for sale.
WHEN/WHERE: Sunday, July 19, from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. at Kapi‘olani Park.
