WHO/WHAT: Come learn about “What‘s in a Japanese name” in this workshop presented by the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai‘i. Resource Center volunteers will provide an extensive general overview of Japanese personal and geograophical names, their cultural significance and historical context. They will also offer assistance to workshop participants to help them learn what their Japanese first, middle and/or last name means, and how it can be written in kanji. Each attendee will receive a card with two names of their choice, handwritten in kanji.
WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, April 4, in the JCCH Conference Room. Check-in at 12:45 p.m., workshop from 1-3 p.m. RSVP deadline is March 27.
