Jared S. Higashi recently joined the Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association as director of government and community affairs.
Higashi will represent HLTA members and serve as a liaison with government and elected officials. He will also manage HLTA’s community and charitable programs, including the annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk.
“Jared comes to HLTA with a background in government, politics and marketing, as well as enthusiasm and fresh ideas,” said HLTA president and CEO George D. Szigeti. “He will be an integral member of the organization as we move into the future.”
Higashi graduated San Jose State University with a bachelor’s degree in radio/television and film. He previously worked as a legislative aide for the state House of Representatives. Prior to that, he handled advertising and marketing for Sigona’s Farmers Market in Palo Alto, Calif.
The Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association represents hotels, condominiums, timeshares and other lodging entities, statewide.
