WHAT: 33rd Trash & Treasure Fundraiser Fair organized by TEMARI, Center for Asian and Pacific Arts.
WHEN/WHERE: Sunday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Manoa Grand Ballroom, Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai‘i. (8-9 a.m. early opening for TEMARI and JCCH members only; membership card helpful, but membership lists will be available at the door).
THE SCOOPS: More than 30 creative artists will offer up for sale their works of wearble art, gift art, practical art, fancy art and art for art’s sake. This TEMARI tradition dates back the organization’s early days on 10th Avenue in Kaimuki, where the belief that “one person’s trash is another’s treasure” first took root.
