WHO/WHAT: The Joy of Sake is a non-profit organization whose mission is sake education. Its firm belief is that the best way to learn about sake is through actual tasting experiences. The Joy of Sake in Honolulu will provide an unparalleled perspective on the great variety of delicious sake being produced today.

WHEN/WHERE: Friday, July 18, from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Hawai‘i Convention Center. Several local, outstanding restaurants will serve cuisine that pairs well with the 370 premium sakes featured at the event.

HISTORY: The Joy of Sake celebrates Hawai‘i’s hundred-year love affair with sake — from the early days of Japanese immigration and the founding of the Honolulu Sake Brewery up to the present. Today, Honolulu hosts the annual U.S. National Sake Appraisal and has more sake-serving restaurants per capita than any other city in the country.
