Anesthesiologist Jae-Hee Song bears a strong resemblance to Seung-Hee Han, Park Hoon’s girlfriend back in the North whom he wants desperately to come join him. “Can We Love” tells the story of three very close friends — Jung-wan Yoon, Sun-mi Kim and Kwon Ji-hyun Kwon, who are all 39 years old and with their own set of problems.
Jung-wan is a divorcée with a kid and financial problems. She is a scriptwriter but works part-time at a market. She starts to work with a very famous director, Kyung-soo Oh.
Sun-mi is a successful decorator who is single. She is seen as an “old maid who is dying to get married” by her ex-boyfriend who dated her for her money.
Ji-hyun is married to a businessman. She lives a nice life aside from the problems with her mother-in-law and rebellious teenage daughter. To make matters worse, her secret first love, film company CEO Do-young Ahn, works with Jung-wan and her husband is one of the investors in Do-young’s company.
