As he tries to adjust to his new life in South Korea, Park Hoon does his best to work alongside Jae-Joon Han, a Harvard graduate who first discovers Park Hoon’s talent, while catching the eye of Soo-Hyun Oh, Jae-Joon’s fiancée and the daughter of the hospital chairman. Anesthesiologist Jae-Hee Song bears a strong resemblance to Seung-Hee Han, Park Hoon’s girlfriend back in the North whom he wants desperately to come join him. “Can We Love” tells the story of three very close friends — Jung-wan Yoon, Sun-mi Kim and Kwon Ji-hyun Kwon, who are all 39 years old and with their own set of problems.
Jung-wan is a divorcée with a kid and financial problems. She is a scriptwriter but works part-time at a market. She starts to work with a very famous director, Kyung-soo Oh.
Sun-mi is a successful decorator who is single. She is seen as an “old maid who is dying to get married” by her ex-boyfriend who dated her for her money.
Ji-hyun is married to a businessman. She lives a nice life aside from the problems with her mother-in-law and rebellious teenage daughter. To make matters worse, her secret first love, film company CEO Do-young Ahn, works with Jung-wan and her husband is one of the investors in Do-young’s company.

The four rookie detectives — Eun Dae-Koo, Eo Soo-Sun, Park Tae-Il and Ji Kook — arrive at the Gangnam Police Station for their first day of work. None of them ever dreamed of becoming a detective. They then meet Pan-Seok Seo, the chief investigator for the No. 3 team.
