The 33rd Hawaii International Film Festival, featuring 209 films from 42 countries, officially launches on O‘ahu on Oct. 10 and runs through Oct. 20. It will then travel to Kaua‘i and Hawai‘i Island from Oct. 24-27.
The Opening Night film is Hayao Miyazaki’s “The Wind Rises.” The film is said to be the acclaimed animator’s last work. This year also marks the 100th year of film in Hawai‘i. For a listing of films and to order tickets, visit www.hiff.org.
